Towers They say
that wonders never cease at
Alton
Towers
and with more amazing new attractions for
all the family, we're not about to
argue! Alton
Towers, based just north of the village of
Alton in Staffordshire, is without doubt
the UK's most popular and exciting theme
park. Head to this magical land and you
are guaranteed a great day you will always
remember. Buy your Alton Towers
Tickets today and see why millions of
families have already visited this amazing
location. Alton
Towers attracts nearly three million
visitors every year. Always
Changing, Always Fresh Alton
Towers continuously develops revolutionary
new rides and attractions that can be
enjoyed by the whole family. Every year,
visitors can find something new to enjoy.
Alton Towers comprises of more than
500 acres of beautiful scenic grounds -
with a breaktaking, majestic castle at its
heart. Great
for couples, families or single
travellers, Alton Towers tickets currently
cost £38 for adults and £28 for
children (4-11 years). In a recent
customer poll, a massive 83% of visitors
said that they intended to visit again.
That's a great recommendation from people
who have already experienced this magical
land. Things
never stay the same for very long at Alton
Towers and this year welcomed in a new
ride called Thirteen. Launched in March
2010 and based on the site of the old
Corkscrew ride, Thirteen is based around
the discovery of an unearthed ancient
burial site in the Dark Forest. Alton
Towers say that Thirteen encompasses
"ultimate elements of physical and
psychological fear." We
checked out Thirteen earlier this year and
it's not bad at all but probably shouldn't
be considered a white-knuckle ride. It
definitely does provide thrills and a few
genuine shocks but it's not too scary. If
you haven't read too much about this ride
then we don't really want to spoil the
surprise for you but we can say that it
takes you above and below ground and does
a few things that we've never experienced
on any rollercoaster before. Thirteen
had quite a huge queue when we visited
Alton Towers. We probably wouldn't queue
THAT long again to ride it but we're
definitely glad we made the effort once.
After a while, the popularity of Thirteen
will diminish and it'll then certainly be
a ride we'll check out regularly. Give it
a go! It's
also work visiting the brand new
Cloud
Cuckoo
Land
which has a breathtaking indoor play area
and a really nice theatre with live
entertainment. Other
Recommended Features Take the
time to check out Battle
Galleons
- an interactive water ride which Alton
Towers call 'the wettest challenge around'
- and considering how many water-based
rides there are at Alton Towers, that's
quite some statement! Battle
Galleons is located within the theme
park's brand new land, Mutiny Bay. Your
Alton
Towers
Tickets
will give you access to Mutiny Bay and
every other land, ride and attraction
within the park. Mutiny
Bay is a pirate-themed land which replaced
the old Merrie England land and opened in
March 2008. Also to
be found in Mutiny Bay is Heave Ho, a new
'rocking boat ride'. Loads of fun. Do
remember that your Alton Towers tickets
get you onto ALL of these rides for no
additional cost. A newly
refurbished monorail train also took to
the tracks in 2008. The monorail train
takes a cool new Splash Landings theme,
consistent with the park's brand new
'Golden Resort' branding. The innovative
design includes lovely wooden panels,
pipes and plenty of water -
yay! As we
said before, things constantly change and
evolve at Alton Towers! Even if you've
visited before, buy your tickets now and
you'll find there's plenty that's
different this time around! New
things are nice but sometimes it's equally
nice to see old friends such as Air, where
you will finding yourself floating,
swooping, soaring and diving. Opinions
vary on just how scary Air is. Perhaps
we're a bit feeble because we found it
terrifying! Other visitors we chatted to
loved Air but didn't think it was as
frightening as we found it! However
you experience it, Air will give you the
exhilaration of being weightless. You'll
actually be flying. Ah well,
back to the kiddies Tea Cups ride for us
then! Actually, the old teacups ride has
now been completely re-designed as
Marauders Mayhem. It's a nice improvement
on the old Tea Cups ride and now comes
complete with rotating barrels instead of
the old tea cups. Originally
located in Aqua Land, the Tea Cups ride
has lived in Alton Towers since 1986! This
makes it one of the oldest members of the
park. If like
us, you find that the fast, scary rides
need to be broken up with a bit of
relaxation then you can take a breather
from it all and have a relaxing picnic in
the Tower Gardens. This should help you to
regain some energy - it'll definitely be
needed to last the rest of your
day! Alton
Towers has everything - children's rides
and activities, family fun and
death-defying thrill rides that beat the
pants out of any other theme park in the
world. It is no exaggeration to say that
there is something for absolutely EVERYONE
at Alton Towers. Buy your Alton Towers
tickets today and you'll be on your
way! Not
Scared Yet? You Will Be For the
real thrill-seekers out there, Alton
Towers has plenty of rides that will test
your scare-level. If Air wasn't enough for
you (shudder) then you've got plenty of
other challenges, including: Free
